PGNiG: Poland to sell Ukraine LNG purchased from US in 2019

WARSAW, Aug 29 (PRIME) -- Poland has agreed to sell Ukraine liquefied natural gas (LNG) that it purchases from the U.S. until the end of 2019, Polish oil and gas company PGNiG said on Thursday.

LNG will be pumped into the Polish system after regasification, the company said without disclosing the volumes.

PGNiG recently signed several long-term contracts on LNG purchases from the U.S. Under a 24-year contract with the U.S.’ Cheniere Marketing International, Poland will annually receive around 0.52 million tonnes of LNG (around 0.7 billion cubic meters after regasification) in 2019–2022 and 1.45 million tonnes of LNG (1.95 billion cubic meters after regasification) in 2023–2042. A contract with the U.S.’ Venture Global LNG encompasses supplies of 2 million tonnes of LNG to Poland annually during 20 years.
